An Autumn Wine Tour in the Tryon Foothills

You are invited to join fellow KNN Arts & Adventurers for a fun and wine filled day visiting three of the beautiful vineyards in the Tryon area. What could be better than a crisp fall day in a vineyard, sampling their wines and enjoying the fabulous scenery! And, to make it even better, round-trip transportation is included so no worries about driving back home! The three wineries have been chosen both for their lovely settings and facilities as well as the quality of their wines. Along the way, we will learn about the history of wine in North Carolina as well as about the grapes and winemaking practices at the three vineyards.
We will depart Kenmure at 11 am, headed to our first stop at Parker-Binns Winery, arriving there about noon. Founded in 2007, the owners focus on growing and vinifying traditional European grapes. After our tasting of their wines, we will enjoy our box lunch from Trade Street Creamery. Parker-Binns has both inside and outside seating areas so, while we hope it is a gorgeous day, we won’t have to worry about the weather impacting our enjoyment of lunch. After lunch, we will head over to Mountain Brook Winery, a family owned winery founded in 2002 and significantly expanded in the last few years. Our final stop will be at Russian Chapel Hill Winery, which features not only their NC wines but an active Russian Orthodox Chapel.

- 11:00 AM - gather in lower KCC parking lot for bus
- 11:15 AM departure from KCC
- 12:00 noon - arrival Parker-Binns Winery for wine tasting
- 12:45 - box lunch at Parker-Binns
- 2:30 - arrive at Mountain Brook Winery
- 4:00 - arrive at Russian Chapel Hills Winery
- 6:00 - approximate return to Kenmure
Bus Details: For this event we will be using the Trolley Company's 24 passenger Coach.
Event Covid Guidelines: in accordance with KNN Covid Guidelines, the following requirements are in place for An Autumn Wine Tour in the Tryon Foothills. If you are unable to follow the guidelines, please refrain from registering for this event at this time.
All Bus riders must wear a mask while on the bus.
Event Costs: Cost per person is $95 which includes all tasting fees, box lunch and bus transportation. Additional wine may be purchased on site on your own account if desired. Additional lunch details will be provided to registered participants.
Payment requirements: Pre-payment is required to reserve your space. For this payment, a check should be made out to Vicki Altmeyer for $95 per person. For couples a single check of $190 is suitable. The check should be placed in an envelope addressed to Vicki Altmeyer and left at the Kenmure Front Gate by the due date.

Cancellation policy: If cancellation is not made at least 72 hours prior to the event, you will be charged for the full event.
Participation in this event is limited to the first 24 who sign-up.
Once participation limits are reached, we will utilize wait-lists for the event.
You are encouraged to sign-up early. Registration closes October 3.
Please note: Completion of the registration form is not a confirmation that you will be able to participate. Once registered you will receive an email requesting the required pre-payment and giving the due date for pre-payment. The pre-payment amount required must be received prior to the due date. Once pre-payment is recorded, you will receive your event confirmation email.
