As the new rotation starts, a reminder about signing up for activities. When you sign up for a rotation, you are doing so to meet and enjoy old and new members alike. Careful thought should be given to your availability to fulfill your hosting an activity. Especially since covid, we are all very busy and it seems as if there are not enough days in the month. A suggestion to help this: Each time a group gathers, they can bring their calendars and set up the next month’s date -- or even better – the complete rotation. This would help eliminate all those emails that go back and forth trying to set up future dates. If you are unable to fulfill your hosting duties during the rotation, it can be rolled into the following rotation so everyone has an opportunity to host. In the event of a cancellation please remember to utilize the sub lists. Subs do want to participate. Remember: the purpose of KNN activities is to have fun! |
Assigned Hosting ActivitiesENTERTAININGLadies - Bunco Babes Groups get together once a month in one another's homes to play a game.
Cocktails and Conversation is a casual activity similar to Happy Hour Wine Tasting, but for those who love cocktails! Each month the host will feature a special cocktail or favorite spirit. This activity is for mingling, enjoying a cocktail or two along with finger food. This is not for those who prefer a sit down dinner.
Ideas for Cocktails: The host might choose to offer a basic cocktail like a vodka or gin and tonic. Or perhaps, the host wants to serve a specialty cocktail. There are drinks for every state and many countries. Choose a drink from your home state or favorite vacation. Or pick a seasonal cocktail: spring and summer call for something refreshing while cold months call for a cozy cocktail. Or consider a theme: Mad Men Martinis, Derby Day Mint Juleps or Cinco de Mayo Margaritas. Dining at the Grill This group gets together at the Kenmure Country Club (KCC) Grill Room one evening each month after cocktails at the host home..

Hiking
The Hiking group provides a good opportunity to meet neighbors who share an interest in exploring the varied hiking sites in our area once a month.
The hikes are led by volunteers from the group. If volunteers switch dates, they will notify the Activity Leader and the members of the group.
Dates for the hikes are chosen by the group from several offered by the hiking leader and based on most of the participants availability.
The hiking leader for the month will notify participants of the planned hike by email one week in advance of the hike. Participants will meet in the Kenmure lower parking lot prior to leaving for the starting point of each hike. Individuals will decide whether or not to drive separately or carpool. Hikes will usually last 3-4 hours and will be either Easy or Moderate in difficulty.
